Platform Explorer

You own: seeing everything. Platform Explorer is the read-only "all access" lens — every section in the sidebar, every dashboard page. Built for demos, executive overviews, training previews, and platform evaluation.

Important: this is NOT admin

Platform Explorer is a job function (controls what you can see), not a permission tier (controls what you can do). Holding platform_explorer and being a viewer means: read every page, write nothing.

To grant write permissions, set the user's role separately to editor or admin via the Workspace Settings page.

To sign out: every dashboard page has a Sign Out button in the sidebar's bottom-left user panel. The /dashboard/welcome page also shows a Sign Out button in the top-right.

Day-1 setup (for real users)

A workspace admin assigns it via /dashboard/admin/users:

  1. Find the user
  2. Click Edit functions
  3. Tick Platform Explorer under "See Everything"
  4. Save

What you see

Every section in the sidebar appears: Data Platform, AI & ML, Orchestration, Governance, Analytics & Reporting, Data Modeling, Collaboration, Workspace Settings, Developer, API Management, GeneFlow ML, AI Studio, Approvals, Catalog, Ops & Reliability, Capacity & Cost, Architecture, Product Health, Migration, Training.

Workflow 1 — Five-minute platform tour

  1. Open /dashboard/welcome — your splash will read "Platform Explorer" with quick links
  2. Scroll the sidebar — every group is visible (Data, AI&ML, GeneFlow, Governance, Architecture, …)
  3. Click into GeneFlow ML → see the 4-tab control plane
  4. Click into Architecture → see the service map + reference topologies
  5. Click into Capacity & Cost → see the tenant's spend rollup
  6. Click into Ops Dashboard → see service-side health

Workflow 2 — Pre-demo checklist

Before a customer demo:

  • Seed the tenant with the soak script: python scripts/soak-tests/geneflow-end-to-end.py --keep
  • Verify /dashboard/geneflow/ml shows experiments, runs, models, prompts
  • Verify /dashboard/geneflow/ml/endpoints shows at least one endpoint
  • Verify /dashboard/governance/approvals has at least one entry (sample stage transition)
  • Verify /dashboard/admin/product-health shows adoption metrics > 0

Common gotchas

  • You can't write. Platform Explorer is visibility-only. If you need to create / edit / delete, ask a tenant admin to grant you editor role (separate from job function).
  • Adoption metrics on /admin/product-health reflect the current tenant. Don't ship to customers if the page would expose your roadmap.
  • platform_explorer is intentionally low seat-cap — Starter: 0, Professional: 1, Scale: 5, Enterprise: unlimited. Don't hand it out broadly.
